We are excited to launch The Inaugural Richard Scolyer Charity Fun Run & Walk as part of our 2026 IAP-AUS Annual Scientific Meeting. All proceeds from the Fun Run registrations and donations will go to support valuable brain cancer research undertaken through the Brainstorm charity at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. In honour of Professor Richard Scolyer’s pioneering research in many aspects of pathology, all funds raised will go towards neuropathology research in brain cancer.

DATE & TIME: Sunday 31st May 6.45 – 7.45 am
LOCATION & LENGTH: This will be a round-trip 5 km run or 2.5 km walk in Brisbane’ Southbank and surrounds
COST: $50 pp

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO IAP-AUS MEETING DELEGATES AS WELL AS FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS! EVERYONE IS WELCOME! ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 12 YEARS OF AGE OR OVER.

Professor Richard Scolyer is a senior staff specialist in the Department of Tissue pathology and Diagnostic Oncology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Conjoint Professor, Sydney Medical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney. He and Professor Georgina Long were honoured as 2024 Australians of the Year for their world-first treatment based on breakthroughs in melanoma research. Richard has spoken publicly about his diagnosis with a WHO Grade 4 glioblastoma and has since worked tirelessly to increase awareness of brain cancer and funds towards brain cancer research.
