ASM 2025 POSTER PREPARATION GUIDELINES

 

Poster Location

All the Posters will be displayed outside of the Pyrmont Theatre, Level 2, International Convention Centre, Sydney. If you have trouble finding the location, you can come to the IAP Reception desk which will be located at Parkside 1 Ballroom, Level 2, at the ICC, Sydney.

 

Poster Preparation Guidelines and Presentation Time

  • Please be sure to set up your poster between 7:30 am and 9:00 am on Friday the 30th of May. Your poster will remain on display throughout the conference days and must be dismantled during Lunch Break 12:55 pm to 1:55 pm on Sunday the 1st of June. Posters not dismantled by 3:25 pm will be discarded.
  • The IAP will supply the velcro needed to hang your poster. No Poster printing services is offered by IAP. Authors need to organise themselves.
  • The poster board provided are vertical in format with dimensions of 1.8 m height and 1.2m width . We encourage either A1 (841 mm x 593 mm) or A0 (1189 x 841) but no bigger than A0.
  • Posters should have a text font size that is clearly readable by viewers standing 1-2m away.
  • Posters are a form of visual communication; effective posters have limited text and maximise the graphic elements such as photos, illustrations, charts, plots and infographics. The visual effectiveness is a significant element of the poster judging.
  • Do not repeat your abstract as a text block in the poster.
  • Including a QR code to sharing the pdf of your poster +/- abstract is encouraged.
  • Formal viewing sessions will be held during the session breaks of the meeting.  During these viewing sessions, you should be available near your poster board to discuss your work with peers who will be reviewing all the posters. No judging is involved; just an exchange of scientific knowledge and two way feedback.

 

Abstract Awards

  • Abstracts are assessed according to the abstract marking schedule. Posters are assessed according to the poster marking schedule. The award winners are identified by adding scores from both the abstract and the poster.
  • There are two categories of Awards offered namely Pathologist Category and Registrar Category. The First Prize winner of each category will receive AUD $500 and a Certificate. There will be two commendations made for both categories.  They will receive a Certificate of Commendation. All other Abstract corresponding authors will receive a Certificate of Participation (which will include co-authors’ name).
  • The Awards will be presented during the Annual Scientific Meeting and the ceremony will take place on Sunday the 1st of June at 11.15 to 11.25 at the Pyrmont Theatre, ICC Sydney. Winning authors will be contacted by the organisers on Saturday afternoon and requested to attend and accept the Prizes at the Award Ceremony.

 

Publication of Abstracts

Accepted abstracts will be published in Histopathology Journal page at Wiley Online Library. This can be cited in the Author’s CV.
